ipython-notebook software package provides interactive Python html notebook, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ipython-notebook
ipython-notebook is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ipython-notebook package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ipython-notebook *
You will get with ipython-notebook package name, version, architecture and description in a table
